A crop that is very easy to distinguish once it flowers is the oilseed rape that we grow.

The brilliantly bright yellow fields are easy to spot amongst the usual greenery.

It has a multitude of uses predominately animal feed, vegetable oil for human consumption or biodiesel.

Recently there has been an upsurge in cold pressed rapeseed oil which is emerging as a direct competitor to Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

(Cold-pressed means the rape is simply mechanically squeezed to get the oil out of the seeds)
